In 2017, Bill 215 Traffic Safety (Tow Trucks) AmendmentAct was introduced by Grande Prairie-Wapiti MLA Wayne Drysdale. The objective of this bill was to allow tow truck operators to install blue and white warning lights onto their towing units as an effort to make towing operations safer. The blue and white beacons improve the overall safety level by making tow trucks more visible as they perform towing operations on Alberta’s highways. Unfortunately, no further action was taken to put this bill into action.
